The Devil's Contract — Episode 2

On the eve of her wedding, Leah catches her fiancé cheating with his adopted sister. Drunk and distraught at a bar, she spends the night entangled with a mysterious stranger. The next day at the church, her fiancé abandons her to attend to his supposedly ill adopted sister. Her adoptive parents publicly berate her as worthless trash. Just as Leah sinks into despair, the church doors fly open. The woman from the previous night strides forward against the backlight, her red-soled high heels shattering the silence of the entire venue. She is Zara Carrington, her fiancé’s stepmother and the legendary matriarch who holds power over the whole family. Zara takes Leah’s hand and stands in place of the groom to complete the wedding ceremony.
